I was fortunate to attend a Women's Retreat this past weekend. It was sponsored by our Corryton Baptist Church. We stayed in an old-fashioned hotel in Ashville North Carolina on the shores of Lake Junaluska. The theme was "Learning to Dance in the Rain". In addition to the planned events of the retreat, we had many pajama parties where we fellowshipped and got to know each other as well as making many new friends. Retreats are intended to refresh the soul and we definitely came away refreshed (as well as a few pounds heavier due the large amounts of medicinal chocolate that were circulated!). We used up many containers of tissues, but we also laughed and hugged and praised the Lord. I hope to attend many more of these events in the future.
