Blast From the Past
I found an old video of Maya and Emily swinging and I just could not resist putting it out here for all to see. I couldn't send it as an email so here it is on my blog. These guys will enjoy seeing this when they grow up or even now. WOW. This is great archival stuff and why I use this blog. This is the best way to share video that is too big to send in an email. Enjoy!

The Ladies Who Lunch January Edition
This month we decided to try something different and went out to a 50's themed restaurant. It was really a fun outing so we decided to continue and drive to some interesting spots. We first drove to the newly renovated downtown Knoxville area. It is really beautiful with gas lights and lovely historical buildings. Next was a trip to Clinton where we hit some shops. I purchased a new GPS (my 10 year old one can no longer be updated). It was on sale for $119 and does much more than my antiquated one. Thanks to Patty for keeping the flyer from the store! Now I can explore without anxiety attacks from getting lost! We hit a couple of General Dollar stores (wow, they have groceries and the hardback books are $1). Woo Hoo. The attached video is not edited because I haven't received my Quicktime editing software yet, so hang in there if you watch it.

Firestarter
Don loves to build a fire in our fireplace. I don't think we could ever consider a gas fireplace, because he has so much fun building the fire, and the crackling wood is so different everytime. We also have a device Don discovered that involves placing a piece of garden hose in a copper pipe and placing it in the fire. I don't understand the chemistry, but it makes beautiful green and blue flames. Don says the green comes from the copper and the blue from the hose. We have a "heatolater" that ensures that the warmth from the blazing fire doesn't all go up the chimney, but blows warm air like a furnace. We rarely have to put the heat on upstairs as the heat stays in because of the wonderful log home insulation. It sure is nice to get a good book and sit by the fire sipping tea (or sometimes Grand Marnier). What a wonderful life this is here in Tennessee guys. Every season is a blessing.
